But here’s the thing: LinkedIn isn’t Tinder, and your professional photo shouldn’t be a game of *guess who*. **1. First impressions matter — and they happen fast.** Your photo is the very first thing a recruiter, hiring manager, or future boss sees. If you look *nothing* like your AI-polished image when you show up for an interview, you’re starting the conversation with confusion instead of credibility. **2. Trust is the currency of your career.** Whether you’re networking, job hunting, or building a professional brand, trust is everything. An AI-generated “perfect” you might impress online, but it can backfire in person. The goal is to look like the best, most professional version of *your actual self*. **3. Recruiters (and humans in general) can spot it.** We know the difference between natural lighting and “AI blur filter circa 2025.” That uncanny, too-perfect look?
